U.S. News and World Report has recently released their “Best Jobs” lists of 2022, which includes the Best Healthcare Support Jobs of 2022. The definition of what makes something the ‘best’ can be interpreted as objective; however, U.S. News and World Report uses several factors in their methodology when evaluating and ranking jobs, which includes projected growth, future job prospects, and much more. There are six healthcare jobs that made the U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Healthcare Support Jobs of 2022” list that Blue Cliff College offers career training for. #5 – Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurse
The first job on our list, which came in at the #5 spot on the U.S. News and World Report list, is Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurse. Licensed Practical Nurses work in a variety of healthcare settings, including nursing homes, public health facilities, and hospitals. They tend to work very closely with patients, under the direction of physicians and registered nurses. Their day-to-day tasks can include monitoring patients’ health and vital signs, administering basic patient care, and providing essential care to those patients who may need assistance performing basic tasks. Students in the Medical Office Administration program are exposed to the skills and knowledge needed to understand the demands of a medical office environment. #18 – Medical Records Technician
As more and more information is available electronically, the need for trained professionals to manage these records will grow. Medical Records Technicians are extremely important when it comes to ensuring that insurance companies are reimbursing patients properly and that all patient information is secure. These professionals are also sometimes referred to as Medical Coders and Billers. Their daily tasks may include organizing and managing health information data by ensuring that it maintains quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security in both paper files and electronic systems. This is another great job for anyone who is organized and who is detail-oriented, and it is also a great career path for anyone interested in working in the healthcare industry but doesn’t want to handle blood, needles and hands-on patient care.

Students who study Health Information Management, Billing and Coding at Blue Cliff College focus on developing a set of skills and knowledge about healthcare administration and management.
